Worship at St. Enoch

"This is the feast of victory for our God." Come join us in this celebration.

The St. Enoch community of believers gathers for worship and to thank God. The word of God as given to us in the Holy Bible is the foundation of our worship, and threads its way through each part of what we call "liturgy". The word "liturgy" means "the work of the people", that is, our active response in offering our praise and thanksgiving. Each Sunday a member of the congregation reads appointed scriptures from the Old and New Testaments, and Pastor Cline preaches on those texts. Before the sermon, children are invited to the front of the church for an informal chat with the pastor.

We celebrate the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) every Sunday. Those who choose to participate receive bread and wine, claiming Jesus' word: "Take and eat. This is my body, this is my blood, given for you for the forgiveness of sin. Do this in remembrance of me." We believe that in this action we join in communion with the saints, in the presence of Jesus Christ. We don't know just how this happens - that is God's business. But we know that saved by God's gracious act of salvation through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are renewed and refreshed to face the challenges of daily life.

Lutheran worship comes out of a strong tradition of choral music. St. Enoch keeps this tradition alive with an active choir and with congregational singing. The choir is always looking for new members. They practice on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30.

A nursery is available and accessible to the worship space. A call before attending will guarantee that the nursery will be staffed for you.

Visitors and guests are always welcome to join us in any of our worship activities.
